The protagonist of the film is a twenty-something girl – Iwona; she lives, with her husband and two little daughters, in a two-room flat in one of the block estates of the capital city. She works as a check-out girl in a grocery supermarket. Her husband, Janusz, is unemployed – he works off and on at removals. The situation of constant money constraints affects the family life – they have rows, which become in time more and more violent. One day Wojtek, Iwona’s old time friend, calls her. He proposes leaving for London, where he lives, and starting there a new life. During the next weeks Iwona more and more often feels inclined to start everything anew, to get away from the dissatisfying reality.
